AERO Friedrichshafen opens: follow FLYER’s show coverage

Europe’s top General Aviation event, AERO at Friedrichshafen, Germany opens this Wednesday, 17 April until Saturday, 20 April.

It’s the 30th time the event has been staged and the organisers say more than 680 exhibitors from 36 countries are present.

The FLYER team is also at the event and we’ll be publishing content in various forms including here on the website, on our YouTube channel and across our various social media outlets (see links below).

Today, Tuesday, has been set-up day for many exhibitors and we were able to see some of the exhibits. Among them are:

  • Tecnam: a new aircraft under wraps until Wednesday morning
  • Bristell and H55: the final prototype of the electric Bristell B23 Energic flown to the show and which is intended to go into production in 2025
  • Diamond eDA40: electric DA40 also heading for EASA CS-23 certification
  • Junkers A50 Heritage: radial-engined version of the retro 1930s style two-seater
  • Carbon Cub UL: 600kg microlight fitted with a Rotax 916iS engine
  • Piper M700 Fury: latest version of Piper’s M-Class flagship
  • Cirrus SR22 G7: latest version of the world’s best-selling piston single
  • JMB Aircraft Phoenix: new motor-glider
  • China’s Ruien Aircraft with a pair of electric aircraft
  • Aura Aero from France with a trio of two-seat aerobatic trainers, including the electric Integral E
  • Shark.aero: showing its ‘Turbulence Cancelling System’ for the first time

As well as the new aircraft, there’s also a raft of product and service developments, including SafeSky’s latest version of its traffic app.
