Airbnb for pilots: holiday with your aircraft

‘Fly-in Holiday Rentals’… effectively an Airbnb specifically for pilots looking to fly on holiday.

That’s the latest idea from Hangar Homes developer Peter Day to make his proposed airpark in Northern Ireland even more attractive.

Peter said, “In anticipation of Enniskillen Aeropark becoming a reality, and the local council wanting them to be holiday homes to boost tourism in the area, many owners may want to rent their Hangar Home out short-term when not being used.

“All the holiday rental sites, like Airbnb, VRBO, HomeAway, Booking.com etc., address ‘Joe Public’, who are the last people owners want. In most cases, they are clueless about aviation and could cause an accident on the airport that would jeopardise the concept of Hangar Homes on GA airports in the UK, which has taken years to achieve.”

So Peter has set up a new venture, Fly-In Holiday Rentals, for owners wishing to rent their Hangar Home short-term to suitable renters, namely other pilots and aviation enthusiasts.
