Aircraft for hire at 2006 prices, including fuel! That’s the special offer from Take Flight Aviation to celebrate ten years in business.
The offer is for a Cessna 152 at £89 per hour at Wellesbourne, the company’s HQ, and a Piper PA-28 for £99 per hour at its new London Oxford Airport site. Both prices include fuel and landing fees and apply to weekday rentals for the whole of August.
Take Flight Aviation started with just one aircraft but now has 15 available for training and hire by members. Sales director Hana Smiddy said, “The company’s unique selling point is that members can take the aircraft away for up to a week or longer by arrangement and only pay for the hours they fly. Members have a fleet of aircraft to use as if they were their own.”
Take Flight Aviation was founded by property entrepreneur and current managing director Mike Roberts. “My philosophy was to simply offer something better and different to others and stand out. Not only did I want to offer reliable and friendly training but unrestricted aircraft hire for club members so to keep newly qualified PPLs flying for many years post-PPL.”
Take Flight is also about to offer a Piper Malibu Matrix.
“We wanted to operate more expensive aircraft that would simply not be practical or cost effective to offer on an hourly hire basis,” said Mike Roberts.
To test the market the company has bought a Malibu Matrix and is offering five user shares of which three are now sold. The users pay a capital share and an annual hours package at a fixed cost with nothing else to pay, other than fuel.
The new site at London Oxford will be officially launched this month. Hana Smiddy said, “Although we’re starting small in Oxford with our two bases only a short flying distance apart, effectively our whole fleet will be available at both locations.”
