Flight planning and navigation software specialist SkyDemon has started to include details of circuit patterns and noise abatement areas on its maps and descriptions of airfields, and it’s asking airfield owners and operators to help with accumulating the required data.
The SkyDemon team will be at December’s FLYER Live show and it’s inviting airfield owners to come and see Louise (the team member responsible for UK airfields). She will be dedicating time to digitise this data so it’s available to SkyDemon users.
“If you fly from a small airfield, and the owner would love to visit us but for some reason can’t, please ask them to give you permission to speak to us on their behalf,” said SkyDemon’s Rob Hart.
Debriefing pack
The next release of SkyDemon will include a printable Debriefing Pack based on the log of a flight once you’re back on the ground. It is intended to be used by instructors or anyone who takes other people flying.
“The first page is a large map of the flown area with the breadcrumb trail overlaid, and subsequent pages show virtual radar strips with height and airspace penetration, and significant events in the flight,” said SkyDemon.
“The events section shows the time, your distance, height and speed when you enter and leave airspace, and pass significant features. The Debriefing Pack will be available on iOS, Android and PC.”
