Hercules Propellers has received approval for a replacement propeller for LAA Permit Tiger Moths.
According to Rupert Wasey, MD of Hercules Propellers, the shape of the propeller hub exactly matches the de Havilland-made originals and Hercules has used computer technology to enhance the blade design. “The propeller has gained approval to be used on Permit aircraft and we’re hoping for a good response, following regular requests.”
Rupert added that the result is a propeller that looks almost identical to the WWII original fitment while optimising both climb and cruise performance. Available in a variety of colours including clear varnish, with Hercules Hercuthane leading edges as standard. Rupert hopes that this new propeller will enable Tiger Moth owners to once again fit a British designed and manufactured propeller, enhancing their piece of aviation heritage.
