SkyDemon flightplanning app users can now connect wirelessly with Avidyne’s IFD range of avionics to transfer flight plans and send GPS position updates to the app during flight.
“Integrated wireless connectivity provides a powerful conduit for adding functionality and expanding the capabilities and utility of our IFD products, and SkyDemon is yet another example,” said Avidyne CEO Dan Schwinn.
“We have a large installed base of IFD owners across Europe and we are happy to now have SkyDemon available as a wireless solution for them.”

Avidyne’s IFD550/IFD540/IFD440 units FMS/GPS navigators that provide easy-to-use Hybrid Touch and Page & Tab user interface, Synthetic Vision, as well as integrated WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity.
Current IFD App compatibility includes ForeFlight, Seattle Avionics FlyQ, FltPlanGo, AvPlan, Cloud Ahoy, OzRunways in Australia, and now SkyDemon in Europe.
