The British Women Pilots’ Association (BWPA) is hosting the annual gathering and fly-in of the Federation of European Women Pilots (FEWP) this year. Up to 100 female pilots and their families are expected from ten equivalent organisations across Europe.
The event takes the format of a three-day fly-in with tours, a black-tie dinner and an airshow. Members will arrive from across Europe to meet up with old friends, make new ones and to share experiences. The base for 2018 will be Old Warden, with a gala dinner and the FEWP AGM at nearby Wyboston Lakes. bwpa.co.uk/event/fewp2018
“Previous events have included locations such as Paris, the Swiss Alps, Chiemsee and Trento, and we look forward to sharing the delights of the Shuttleworth Collection with our European friends,” says the BWPA.
“If that’s not enough for them, we are hoping to complement our welcome BBQ with some fire juggling – nowhere near any aeroplanes, you will be glad to read. As with everything in the BWPA, the FEWP gathering is being organised by volunteers, all of them British female pilots. The FEWP team has been working hard for over a year to bring this event together.
“The BWPA is looking for support or sponsorship (either monetary or items for ‘goody bags’, and anyone who would like to support or be involved in any aspect of the BWPA.
“Our scholarships, events, outreach programme, newsletters and online presence are all managed by our members. If you are interested in becoming more involved, and helping to support Britain’s women pilots, please get in touch!”

HI .
I think it is a fantastic idea, women pilots need more recognition.
A great Idea and it will be good to see many visiting aviatrixes from Europe coming to these shores.
As Co-Founder of General Aviation Support Egypt – G.A.S.E. I would like to offer a number of ‘goodies’ to giveaway to visitors or as raffle prizes…
Let me know if you are interested…
Cheers
