CAA updates Loss of Control safety leaflet

Loss of Control

The UK CAA has published an updated Safety Sense leaflet to give pilots information on Loss Of Control, one of the main causes of aircraft accidents.

The CAA’s guide sets out symptoms of an impending stall and how to avoid stall conditions.

It’s part of the CAA’s series of Safety Sense Leaflets covering a range of subjects from winter flying to balloon airmanship. They are available for download as a pdf free (link below).

The series is being updated one by one. This is what’s available at the moment, and the CAA says “more key leaflets are being developed for release over the coming months”:

  • Care of Passengers in General Aviation Aircraft (July 2021)
  • VFR Moving Map Devices (November 2021)
  • Winter Flying (December 2021)
  • Fuel handling and storage (March 2022)
  • Strip Flying (May 2022)
  • Loss of Control (July 2022)
