How about this for a beautifully refurbished Cessna 152? It’s the latest addition to the fleet of Cambridge Aero Club and will be available to club members for training and solo flights.
“Newly refurbished G-CLNC comes to us from Brinkley Aircraft Services at Meppershall,” said a statement from the club.
“As ever, this Cessna 152 has been fitted to the highest spec with sparkling interior and brand-new paintwork.
“G-NC joins her sisters G-CLNA and G-CLNB as a great little trainer, ideally suited to PPL training and solo jaunts alike. Whether it’s mastering a good landing or an affordable option for hour building these nifty two-seaters fit the bill.”
Terry Holloway, managing director of the club, added, “Following the huge success and popularity of the first two Cessna 152 aircraft, we are delighted to be adding a third machine to our fleet. These aeroplanes have proved to be very popular with our club members, particularly by our ab initio students who find their handling very straightforward.”
Cambridge Aero Club operates a fleet of eight Cessna 152, 172, and 182 training and touring aircraft, as well as an Extra 200 aerobatic aircraft, from its base at Cambridge City Airport.
Courses on offer include basic to advanced flight training, including PPL, aerobatics, tail wheel conversions, night ratings, instrument training (including CBIR), farm strip courses, and long-distance navigation.
The club is one of the oldest in the UK, with flying training operations starting in 1930, with aviation pioneer Sir Arthur Marshall as the first flying instructor. It went on to train over 20,000 pilots for the RAF prior to and during WWII, including Johnny Johnson, the top scoring fighter ace of WWII, and Dickie Morrow-Tait in 1946, who became the first woman to fly around the world in 1947.
