An Aspen avionics package is now available for Robinson’s R44 and R66 helicopters, less expensive and lighter than the Garmin G500H already approved as an option for the R66.
The Aspen EFD 1000H Primary Flight Display (PFD) can be specified and fits in the standard 8-hole instrument panel.
The R44 is also now available with the same Genesys Aerosystems HeliSAS (Helicopter Stability Augmentation System) and autopilot as already fitted to the R66.
The R44 autopilot option has all the modes and functionality as the R66 including basic stability augmentation, heading hold, altitude hold, navigation signal tracking, and approach guidance.
The price for an autopilot installation with Aspen PFD is $60,200. One of several available models of Garmin GTN navigator is also required and is not included in this price.
