+VIDEO Cirrus is to produce seven limited edition SR22T aircraft to celebrate the delivery of its 7,000th piston aircraft later this month (April 2018).
Cirrus delivered its first SR20 (‘Single Reciprocating’) factory-built aircraft on 29 July 1999. Since then the range has expanded to three models, SR20, SR22 and SR22T, and is now on its sixth generation (G6).
The worldwide fleet, which includes around 500 aircraft in ‘institutions’ such as government fleets, has clocked up 10 million flight hours. The company’s signature Cirrus Airframe Parachute System (CAPS) has been successfully used 74 times with an estimated 150+ lives saved.
