The flight school at Compton Abbas Airfield in north Dorset is for sale “for the price of the Piper PA28 training aircraft”.
The airfield was recently sold to movie director Guy Ritchie who owns the nearby Ashcombe Estate. Mr Ritchie has confirmed the airfield will continue flight operations.
A statement from Compton Abbas Airfield said, “Having agreed the sale and continued operation of Compton Abbas Airfield, the outgoing owners are keen to now find a buyer/operator for the very successful flight school.
“The whole business, including the client base, all necessary training documentation, manuals and equipment can be acquired for the price of the PA28 training aircraft at an agreed value.
“The incoming owners are fully supportive of the continuation of the flight school at Compton Abbas Airfield.
“Please note it is unlikely the purchase would be successfully completed in the time available if borrowing for the purpose of buying has to be negotiated.”
