One of 20 University Enterprise Zones (UEZ), Cranfield will support start-ups and SMEs with specialist facilities, programmes and collaborations.
Professor Tom Stephenson, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Research and Innovation at Cranfield University, said, “With technology developing at pace, including drones and electric-powered flight, we are now in an ideal position to accelerate innovation in aviation.
“We’re delighted to support small firms who have high-growth potential in this sector, and bring to fruition the technology of tomorrow.”

A good initiative but I do wish that they would have supported existing businesses who have supported them very so many years. These core businesses have produced income for the Unversity, jobs for local people who then spend locally. I wish them well but I do hope that these new ventures will not to pipe dreams of entrepreneurs whose hopes and aspirations are not based on reality.
