Skyleader aircraft from Czech manufacturer Jihlavan are to be sold in the UK through Durham Aerosports, based at Durham Tees Valley Airport.
“We are very pleased and excited to announce that we are now the authorised representative for Skyleader Aircraft in the UK,” said Lawrence Bell of Durham Aerosports.
“After several months of planning and research, we were able to finalise our plans and sign an agreement with Jihlaven Aeroplanes to certify and distribute their aircraft in the UK and Isle of Man.”
Above and top: Skyleader 100 is an all-metal single-seater with a cruise speed of 75kt, take-off run of 100 metres and a basic empty weight of 210kg. Engine is a four-stroke HKS 700E.
“Our initial launch brings the Skyleader 100 to the UK market as a factory built single seat aircraft falling under the SSDR category. We are now receiving orders for this aircraft to be delivered in early 2017.

“In addition, we are seeking certification for two of their models, the GP One and the Skyleader 600. The GP One is a factory-built microlight equipped with BRS as standard and is very competitively priced. Upon certification of the GP One, we will be using them exclusively in our training fleet.”
Above: Skyleader 600 is the flagship aircraft, two seats, all metal with a tricycle fixed or retractable gear option. Power is Rotax 912, 912S, 914 or 912iS.
“The Skyleader 600 is a 600kg light aircraft [in the Light Sport Aircraft category] which is very popular in Europe and there is already demand for this aircraft in the UK.
“Having test flown Skyleader aircraft and reviewed their manufacturing facilities, we believe that these aircraft are safe, robust and very competitively priced.”
