+VIDEO New British manufacturer e-Go aeroplanes, based at Conington, Cambs, is to deliver its first production aircraft in June to… its new chief executive officer, William Burnett, seen above sitting in his e-Go.
“We are pleased to be able to report that after a lengthy search for our CEO which involved meeting many interesting people (several have subsequently committed to various long term relationships with e-Go aeroplanes) we were delighted when our first customer, William Burnett, asked to be considered,” said David Boughey, sales and marketing manager.
“He is a pilot, has had a career in the RAF, successfully built up his own civilian company and also ran a Jaguar racing team but clearly one major benefit of William’s candidacy is his intimate knowledge of the current product, the team involved and the company. After interviews and referencing we are pleased to be able to confirm his appointment and look forward to the company moving into its next phase in his hands.”
William Burnett has already had a test flight in e-Go’s prototype and demonstration airraft, reg G-EFUN. His own aircraft is registered G-OEGO (GO EGO) and from the photo above released by e-Go, is an “e-Go+”.
The e-Go is an innovative design fitting into the Single-Seat DeRegulated (SSDR) category. That means there are no airworthiness standards imposed on it by the CAA, but the aircraft must have a maximum weight of less than 300kg, wing loading of less than 10kg per square metre and a minimum handling speed below 35kt. Also, it must have third party insurance and carry a registration. Flights are limited to VFR conditions.
