The Bell 505 Jet Ranger X helicopter has been certified by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). The 505 is the new entry-level light single in Bell’s range, replacing the out-of-production Jet Ranger. It goes head to head with Robinson’s R66 Turbine.
“This is a significant milestone for the Bell 505 Jet Ranger X and I know our customers in Europe are thrilled to hear the news as well,” said Bell’s Patrick Moulay.
“Our mission with the Bell 505 was to reclaim the short single light market while honoring the Jet Ranger legacy and the phenomenal customer response is evidence we are on track.”
Bell is holding an event for European operators this month at its Training Academy in Fort Worth. The first 505 in the region is scheduled to be delivered at the beginning of 2018.
Key features of the Bell 505 Jet Ranger X include a flat floor and open cabin, configurable for a wide variety of missions and payloads. It can carry up to four passengers.
