Statement from Carlisle Airport: REGRETFULLY, FOR OPERATIONAL REASONS A DIFFICULT DECISION HAS BEEN MADE TO POSTPONE OUR 06-24 FLY-IN SCHEDULED TO TAKE PLACE THIS COMING WEEKEND SATURDAY 8TH AND SUNDAY 9TH JUNE. WE PLAN TO HOLD THE EVENT IN THE FUTURE. IN THE MEANTIME, THE AIRPORT REMAINS OPEN 7 DAYS A WEEK, AND WE CONTINUE TO LOOK FORWARD TO WELCOMING BOTH EXISTING AND NEW VISITORS TO OUR SUPERB FACILITY
Carlisle Lake District Airport is excited to announce its first fly-in event since the COVID pandemic.
The event is open to all radio equipped aircraft: microlights, gyros, helicopters and GA are all welcome.
There will be no landing fees to attend the event. The only charge is a £5 donation per aircraft, which will be split between the Great North Air Ambulance Service and the Solway Aviation Museum.
The weekend offers an opportunity to sample what Carlisle and the wonderful north lakes and border region has to offer. Keen to promote local businesses, the fly-in will see local caterers, businesses, and there’s an opportunity to meet the airport team and local tenants.
Both days are also open to the public, who will be able to access the terminal lounge area and view visiting aircraft, as well as take advantage of what is on offer:
• Air Ground Radio Active
• Avgas will be offered at a discounted rate
• Jet A1 will be offered at a discounted rate
• Hard and Grass parking
• Under Wing Camping
• Local caterers and bar area
• Exhibitors (Flying Schools and local interest)
• Trial Flights available (Microlights and General Aviation)
• Comfortable pilots lounge
• Concession entry of £5 and transport to the Aviation Museum.
