Dean Wilson Celebration Fly-in, Strathaven Airfield, 12-14th August, 2022. A fly-in of folding wing STOL aircraft to celebrate the 39th anniversary of the wonderful design of Dean Wilson’s Avid Flyer. All Avids, Kitfoxes, Escapades, Eurofoxes, Sherwood Scouts, KFA Safaris etc are welcome. Other types welcome too.
You can fly into Strathaven as early as Friday afternoon for a quick visit or stay till Sunday. A free landing voucher for August is available in the July 2022 LAA magazine. PPR on 07708 183215 if it is your first visit.
The new airfield cafe will be open at the weekend. You can camp on the airfield or kip in the clubhouse. Transport to local accommodation can also be arranged. Help with fuel (Unleaded petrol or UL91) will also be available.
It is hoped to organise a side-trip to Bute and a meal on Saturday evening (13th).
