Nearby to Sturgate is the famous Dambusters’ airbase: RAF Scampton. The base is in the process of decommissioning. Danger area EGR313 should, subject to confirmation, be open. With liaison with Waddington Zone, there is the intriguing possibility for a pilot to negotiate a flyby of the historic buildings, whilst they are still standing.
