This flying season, Compton Abbas is celebrating the rich history of flying, with its Aviator’s Spotlight series! On specified days, it’ll be offering exclusive free landing fees to select aircraft types & designs.
And it’s kicking the season off with the Thruster! The roots of this flying machine reach back to Australia, where the original design (Gemini) was primarily used for sheep-herding. They remain an ever-popular choice in microlight schools, known to be a ‘student-proof’ option due to their agricultural build heritage!
On Saturday 3 May 2025, all Thrusters are treated to a free landing fee, as the airfield honours this microlight heritage!
