Progressive Aerodyne (PA), the producer of the experimental amphibious SeaRey, has received FAA approval for a production LSA version of the aircraft.
The production SeaRey will be available in two models, a basic version priced between $120,000 to $125,000 equipped with the 912S Rotax engine and an elite version for $138,000 with a turbocharged 114 hp Rotax 914. The SeaRey features a 500ft takeoff roll on water and a 400ft takeoff roll on land.
PA will start production on the FAA-compliant aircraft immediately to meet the 10 to 15 orders already made.The company expects to deliver the first fly-away SeaRey early next year.
