I love a local bimble as much as anyone, but for me flying is all about travel, about using an aeroplane to experience magnificent views, meet great people, share memorable moments and arriving at destinations in a way that would be impossible if you were stuck with the commercial options.
This year, thanks to Riccardo De Nardis, I managed that in spades with a trip to Venice Lido, via a couple of other great airfields along the way. You can read all about the trip here.
And if you’re worried about venturing beyond Le Touquet, Annabel Cook has done a great job of writing up a recent trip in her recently published Rookie’s first Euro Run.
