The first proper autumn storm of this year will hit northern and western parts of Britain on Thursday night and Friday morning, the Met Office has just warned.
The intense depression will blow in from the Atlantic on Thursday night bringing winds gusting to 70+mph and heavy rain to parts of Northern Ireland, Scotland, northern England and Wales
Keith Groves, Head of Forecasting at the Met Office, said: “Until now autumn has been relatively quiet in terms of Atlantic storms, however, this one will remind us what autumn can bring and the winds we expect in the north and west may well bring down trees and cause some minor structural damage.”
Nail ’em down, boys…
