Four free landings for November have been confirmed. They are: Enstone, Cumbernauld, Castle Kennedy and Fowlmere.
The free landings are available to all FLYER Club Members and can be found on your member dashboard from 1 November.
Cumbernauld Airport is located 16nm northeast of Glasgow and is handily placed for anyone visiting the city or Edinburgh. The airport provides a range of services for pilots visiting the aerodrome and has an 820m asphalt runway and self-service fuelling with avgas and Jet A1.
The airfield is PPR, which can be gained by telephone, email or by application form. In IMC conditions, suitably equipped aircraft may let down at Glasgow or Edinburgh and proceed to Cumbernauld VMC.
Castle Kennedy Airfield is centred between Northern Ireland, Prestwick, Carlisle, Blackpool and the Isle of Man. All General Aviation aircraft are welcome.
The airfield is unlicensed, and used at the pilot’s own risk and discretion. The airfield is strictly PPR, due to agricultural and other activities. Visitors are requested to complete a booking form or telephone using the numbers in the contact section.
There is no radio frequency for Castle Kennedy, however Scottish Information can give information on Danger Area activity. The Airfield frequency in use is Safetycom, and pilots should use blind calls for Castle Kennedy Traffic from 10nm inbound.
Oxfordshire Sport Flying welcomes visitors to its airfield, Enstone EGTN, where there is both a hard tarmac runway (1100m x 50m) or grass strip (800 x 50m).
There’s a well appointed clubhouse with a full host of facilities and the airfield is located in quiet Class G airspace.
We kindly require visiting pilots to obtain PPR before arriving at Enstone Aerodrome. Please complete the online form to receive PPR or call us on 01608 677208.
Fowlmere Airfield is just south of Cambridge and west of Duxford Airfield, and is a modern general aviation hub with world-class facilities. Please PPR online.
The British Aerobatic Academy is on-site with training and aerobatic aircraft. There’s also maintenance available with Modern Air.
