Are not-for-profit airfields run by pilots the answer to saving Britain’s airfields?
Up in Scotland, this week’s guest has plans afoot to get pilots investing small amounts to become ‘airfield owners’ in order to save at-risk strips. This idea makes use of legislation that allows community organisations to take over control of land or buildings.
To get the lowdown, we’ll be chatting with Colin MacKinnon, owner of Strathaven, who’s the brains behind the project. We’re looking forward to hearing about his plans and whether this might be an option for saving UK GA airfields.
