Balloon pioneer Don Cameron

This week we’re honoured to be welcoming ballooning legend Don Cameron MBE!

Aeronautical engineer and ballooning icon Don is well-known even beyond ballooning circles as the founder of Cameron Balloons, and for a whole series of incredible achievements that include being the first person to cross the Alps and the Sahara by hot-air balloon, the first balloon flight between the UK and what was then the USSR, and of course the first Transatlantic crossing in a balloon, which he achieved in 1992 in a balloon of his own design. His accolades include the Harmon Trophy, awarded to him at The White House by the Vice President and previously held by the likes of Charles Lindburgh and Neil Armstrong.

This extra-special interview was pre-recorded at the Cameron Balloons factory in Bristol.
