Tom Haines, AOPA US Living Legend

This week we’re delighted to be chatting with Tom Haines, former Editor-in-Chief of AOPA! In 1994 Tom became the youngest person ever to lead an aviation magazine, and since then he’s flown over a hundred types on five continents in the name of aviation journalism (he’s even got a second-in-command type rating on the B-25 Mitchell bomber!). Last year, he was inducted as one of the Living Legends of Aviation, an award given to those who’ve shown “extraordinary accomplishment in aviation”. We’re looking forward to hearing about the array of flying experiences he’s had over his long career, including his most recent project – helping an organisation called Elephants, Rhino and People acquire CubCrafters NXCub aircraft for anti-poaching and herd monitoring in Namibia.
