Langar Airfield in Nottinghamshire is for sale as a mixed rural and commercial investment, and includes an in-use runway.
The airfield was opened in September 1942 and played an important role in WWII, being used by the RAF and US 9th Air Force. Avro, manufacturer of the Lancaster bomber, also established a maintenance base there.
These days, former RAF Langar is used by Skydrive Langar, also known as the British Parachute School, and various other businesses including driving schools. Various sheds are rented by individuals.
The main runway (01/19) and NE/SW secondary (07/25) are still active and in use. The original technical site is still in use, along with both wartime T-2 hangars. Additional post-war hangars and a secondary maintenance site built to the north-west, along with many of the hard-standings around the wartime perimeter track still exist.
The annual income is given as £103K, and the asking price for the entire property is £3.25m. It’s on sale through Kettering estate agents Berrys.

I’ll bet there’ll be a few p*ssed off Canadian Sabre pilots when they hear about this ! Brilliant fighter airfield in the Fifties. If the developers continue to be allowed their money grabbing ways, there’ll be none of them left. We’ll all have take our aeroplanes to France. There are plenty there ! :-{}
