An emergency AD grounding CAP 232’s has been issued by France’s Generale De L’Aviation Civile. The move follows the death of French aerobatic pilot Jean-Michel Delorme in an accident at the end of August when his CAP 232 lost a wing during the French aerobatic championship.
Jean-Michel was the most qualified member of the French Air Force Aerobatic Team (EVAA) and came first at the last French aerobatic championship. The Emergency Airworthiness Directive concerns the following aircraft: CAP 230, CAP 231, CAP 231 EX and CAP 232 aircraft, all serial numbers.
