Goodbye #FLY2024, you were great. Hello #FLY2025

Last year’s FLYER challenge, #FLY2024, has come to an end with two winners announced. They are Melanie Moxon and Derek Pake, two very different pilots with very different aircraft, but with a shared passion to go flying.

Luckily, they both contributed regularly to the #FLY2024 forum thread with great photos and tales of aviation. That’s all you have to do to take part in the FLYER Challenges! No forms to complete or Health & Safety risk assessments! Just fly safely.

Honourable mentions to others too: Stratotramp, African Eagle, Skydriller, RussP and Martin Leusby are just some.

Catch up with their, and others, stories of flying in 2024, in the #FLY2024 forum thread (now closed).

#FLY2025: similar but different

But that’s not the end. #FLY2025 is upon us with slightly tweaked criteria which Ed Hicks describes:

FLYER invites you to share in the new #FLY2025 Challenge – and you’ll see that this year we’ve tweaked the elements. Some elements might be a bit more attainable than previous years, others might add a little extra challenge.

  1. Fly 20 hours.
  2. Go flying in two new-to-you General Aviation types. As pilot or passenger, we don’t mind how – but maybe FLYER Forum members might think about meeting up to swap rides.
  3. Fly to five new airfields.

Anyone can enter into the fun. All you have to do is post occasionally in the dedicated forum thread, with words, photos and even videos, as you tick off (or not) the various targets.
