Twenty students have gone flying over the past three years thanks to the Rob Wildeboer Scholarships run by Goodwood Flying School – and now applications for the 2025 scholarships have opened.

The scholarships are in memory of Rob Wildeboer, the manager of the school who died suddenly in 2021.

The school said, “Thanks to your support, we’ve raised an incredible £27,400 to date and have helped 20 students take flight on their aviation journeys.

“This year, we are thrilled to announce the continuation of the Rob Wildeboer Scholarships, with three more opportunities available.

“We remain committed to keeping Rob’s legacy alive and hope to grow this initiative in the years to come.”

The scholarships available for 2025 are:

  • 2 x 10 hours training in the Cessna 172
  • 1 x 5 hours training in the Piper Cub

In addition to the scholarships, Pooleys Flight Equipment has donated a number of PPL/LAPL Course Training Books to support the successful candidates. Applications are open now and will close on 28 February 2025.
