Hangar Homes developer Peter Day is persisting with his plan for Solent Airport by submitting a new planning application for six mixed-use hangars and a heritage hangar/centre.
Peter decided to submit the new application to tackle specific points raised by the planning inspector to his original proposal.
“A legal challenge to the decision to refuse the appeal is risky and hugely expensive if you lose,” said Peter. “So instead I have decided to pursue a new planning application addressing all of the reasons for refusal.”
They are:
“Hopefully the local council will accept this excellent scheme which will bring six new aviation-related businesses to Daedalus, including my own to build the stunning Velocity kit aircraft with the help of the engineering students at CEMAST,” added Peter.
“Also the heritage hangar is big enough for two of the Boultbee Spitfires with a superb heritage centre above providing unmatched views over the airfield from the huge balcony.
“The scheme will also safeguard the airfield and help to make it more sustainable as each unit would contribute directly to the airfield operation.”
