5,000 flying hours takes a lot of flying but that’s what Leicester-based Helicentre Aviation Academy has achieved with its Guimbal Cabri G2 two-seat training helicopters.
Helicentre bought six of the Cabri G2 helicopters over three years, and now accounts for more than 6% of the global Cabri G2 flight hours, according to figures from French company Hélicoptères Guimbal.
The 5,000th was flown by 2015 FI(H) Scholarship winner Jop Dingemans whilst undergoing his Flight Instructor course. Dingemans, pictured above with the Cabri G2, has already been offered a full-time position as a Flight Instructor with Helicentre.
The company will be taking delivery of the first of four additional Cabri G2 helicopters later this month.
