HeliGroup's Cabri G2 first with Aspen Avionics panel

The first Guimbal Cabri G2 fitted with an Aspen Avionics panel has been delivered to Wycombe Air Park where it will be used for professional helicopter pilot flight training by HeliGroup.

The helicopter, finished in Chianti red, is fitted with the Aspen EFD1000 Evolution digital display. It is in horizontal format fits with the standard Cabri EPM – a Guimbal-developed advanced multi-function vehicle monitor. The displays now include:

• An Attitude Display Indicator with tape-style Altimeter and Airspeed Indicator. To better fit the common ab-initio training mission, mechanical ASI and Altimeters are retained standard on the Cabri and the tape-style instrument can be shown or hidden.
• An Horizontal Situation Indicator with multiple GPS/VOR inputs and traffic awareness displays linked to ADS-B or FLARM.

Guimbal has certified the new Aspen glass-panel with both EASA and the FAA, and the majority of customers are opting for this version.
