Henstridge Airfield is hosting a Fly-in on Monday 1 April to mark the 70th Anniversary of the airfield. On 1 April, it will be 70 years to the day since Henstridge – known then as HMS Dipper – opened for active service. It was used as a training facility and camp as a satellite to Yeovilton.
Organisers are planning live music and a barbecue as well as the unveiling of a memorial stone dedicated to all those who have served, worked and flown from Henstridge in the last 70 years.
The airfield is offering free landings on the day of the event and boasts UL91 Avgas at £1.70/litre.
Organisers request that all pilots flying in MUST look at the website <a href=’http://www.wessexstrut.org.uk/ ‘ target=’_blank’>www.wessexstrut.org.uk</a> for joining instructions.
