The Light Aircraft Association has rescinded an award made to pilot Tracey Curtis-Taylor who flew a classic Boeing Stearman biplane from Cape Town to the UK in 2014.
The Bill Woodhams Trophy for navigation was awarded to Tracey in 2014 in recognition of the flight. However, a motion to rescind the award was voted on by LAA member at its annual general meeting, held at Sywell on Saturday 22 October, and was carried by a majority.
“We have no further comment to make on the award or its recipients,” said Steve Slater, CEO of the LAA.
