Lancair International has revealed that it will be announcing a completely new aircraft at next month’s AirVenture 2007 Fly-in and Exhibition at Oshkosh in Wisconsin.
Excitingly, they are saying that it will be “faster and safer than any other single engine aircraft in existence today”.
“Our customers will be amazed at the degree of sophistication engineered into this evolutionary new aircraft and will marvel at how little work will be required to take this kit from purchase to flight.”
Quizzed by Avweb, the company’s President and CEO, Joseph Bartels, let on that the aircraft was a turboprop, not a jet, and emphasised that the build-time for the kit would be surprisingly short.
We are also expecting that it will be a two-seat aircraft, although at the moment everything is top secret, and the full details will only become available at the unveiling at Oshkosh. It’s not even known whether the aircraft there will be a flying version or not.
