Job opportunities for pilots are better than ever and airlines are looking to sign up cadets earlier and earlier in their training.
The latest is UK regional airline Loganair which has started ‘tagging’ ATPL trainees on successful completion of their first six months of ground school.
Loganair is partnering with Gloucestershire Airport based Skyborne Airline Academy. Skyborne Integrated ATPL trainees will have the opportunity to be ‘tagged’ by Loganair upon successful completion of their first six-months of ATPL ground school.
This means they will receive priority placement in the airline’s hold pool prior to graduation. Skyborne is the first academy to partner with Loganair to tag Integrated ATPL trainees.
Carla Booth, Commercial Director (UK) at Skyborne, said, “At Skyborne, our aspiring airline pilots are at the heart of everything we do and through our new partnership with Loganair, I’m proud we can offer a path to a rewarding career with a thriving airline.
“Offering security to our trainees through job opportunities is important, and we look forward to seeing them soar with Loganair.”
Once tagged, trainees will receive mentoring from Loganair throughout the remainder of their studies across Skyborne’s US and UK bases, before going on to undertake type rating training with Loganair.
Jordan Jennings, Flight Crew Recruiter at Loganair, added, “It’s become apparent from our first intake of Skyborne trainees that the quality of the training provided is incredibly high and therefore embarking on this partnership was an easy decision for Loganair.
“We are proud to be working as a partner for the Integrated ATPL tagging initiative which allows us to meet the growing demand for regional travel with highly skilled, qualified individuals as part of our crews.
“The successful graduates from Skyborne will join the Loganair family where they will fly our dynamic fleet of turboprops and regional aircraft to unique locations including Barra and Tiree, across the UK and Europe.”
