Popham airfield is currently under threat following the submission of plans to construct fourteen wind turbines – each up to 126m high – at Bullington Cross, 3km west of the airfield.
Campaigners have pointed out that although the name of the plan suggests the site is at Bullington Cross, it is actually situated between Bullington Cross and Popham.
Planning applications have been lodged, and formal objections must be in by Friday 24 May. The windfarm sits astride three planning authorities and formal objection must be sent to all three.
A clear guide to registering an objection is presented on the Keep Hampshire Green website www.keephampshiregreen.org.
Another major development at Woodmancott Down, 4km to the south east of Popham, proposes eight 135m turbines.
