One of the first public outings for the new government-appointed General Aviation Champion, Byron Davies, will be at this year’s LAA’s Youth and Education Strut (YES) Aviation Education Conference.
Mr Davies, who is also the first chairman of the All Party Parliamentary Group for General Aviation, will be the keynote speaker at the YES conference at Brooklands Museum, Weybridge, Surrey on March 10.
Mr Davies, pictured above with Baroness Sugg, Minister for Aviation, has been tasked by the Government to gather evidence of the GA sector’s value to the economy and the need for a protected network of airfields.
The YES conference brings together key players in aviation education to discuss current initiatives and enable a better understanding of what opportunities are available or young people in General Aviation as a career or recreational activity.
Organisations represented at the event include the Trailblazer and the Heritage Apprenticeship Programmes, Aerobility, the LAA, Air Cadets, the Royal Institute of Navigation, the Scouts and The Shuttleworth Trust.
For further information about the conference, which runs from 10:00 till 16:00 and costs £12.50 (includes lunch), or to pre-register, email [email protected] or call 01932 857381.

Is the conference actually next year in March or is that an error?
