Downloading Notam off the AIS website (<a href=”http://www.ais.org.uk” target=”_blank”>www.ais.org.uk</a>) is finally becoming quicker after the software was upgraded yesterday. There’s still no change in the site’s functionality, but pilots should now at least be able to download Notam more quickly.
A written question about the Notam problems was also asked in Parliament this week. Anne McIntosh, MP for the Vale of York and whose husband John is a director of Delta Airlines, asked the Secretary of State for Transport, Local Government and the Regions, what representations he has received from UK pilots who have to log onto the Swedish air traffic service to obtain UK NOTAM for safety and time critical information owing to faults on the UK NATS website.
The meeting between the AIS, CAA and pilots’ representatives to try to sort out problems with the site will still take place on November 15.
