Californian helicopter manufacturer Robinson Helicopter Company saw a healthy upturn in sales in 2017 with deliveries of 305 helicopters.
The Raven R44 piston-engined four-seater was the world’s best-selling helicopter with 174 deliveries, according to GAMA’s latest report.
Robinson’s top-of-the-range R66 Turbine, powered by a Rolls-Royce turboshaft engine, sold 77 models, and the R22 two-seater 22.
Robinson says it’s confident the upturn in sales will continue as the company introduces a number of new options for the R44 and R66 at this year’s HAI Heli-Expo show, which opened in Las Vegas, USA yesterday.
The Raven II R44 and R66 will be equipped with Garmin’s new TXi display systems, and a Genesys HeliSAS autopilot. Robinson’s recently introduced cargo hook and wire strike protection kit, installed on an R66, is also on display at Heli-Expo.
