Norfolk-based The Light Aircraft Company (TLAC) is selling off three of its aircraft types as a ready-made microlight company.
They are the Sherwood Kub, Ranger and Scout. The package includes components, manufacturing jigs, tools and fixtures, along with intellectual property – all the assets required to go into production.
Why? TLAC says it has run out of space at its Little Snoring HQ in Norfolk, and is focussing on three machines: Bobcat, Ikarus C42 and Shark.
TLAC CEO Paul Hendry-Smith said his hangars are full fulfilling maintenance and construction orders. As a result, he’s streamlining the company and offering a complete package for anyone who wants to take on the Kub, Ranger and Scout.
“The Kub, Ranger, and Scout are all wonderful aircraft,” said Mr Hendry-Smith , “but space constraints mean we have to make tough decisions. We’re confident this move will better position us to meet the needs of budding pilots.
“This is a unique opportunity to acquire the assets of these popular aircraft. Current aircraft owners and builders will continue to receive support until such time that ownership transfers.”

TLAC says it is also positioning itself as a one-stop shop for microlight pilots with:
“Whether someone is taking their first step into the skies or is an experienced pilot looking for trusted support, we aim to be their go-to destination.”
