The management at Southampton Airport has gone back on a deal struck with private owners earlier this year and given them notice to leave by the end of October.
The backtracking has been blamed on a lack of long term car parking. Over a dozen pilots and four aircraft are affected by the latest squeeze on private flying from UK regional airports.
The aircraft owners spent £16,000 laying plastic reinforcement on an area of grass designated for long term GA parking which the airport has promised to refund.
Flying training will continue with the two flying schools unaffected.
