Three more 600kg Light Sport Microlights have been approved by the British Microlight Aircraft Association (BMAA).
The three new approvals are:
All three can be approved with or without a ballistic rescue parachute.
These additions bring the BMAA approved fleet of 600kg LSMs to a total of 19 aircraft, an average of around one new approval per month since November 2021.
According to the BMAA newsletter, one in four of all BMAA aircraft are now LSMs. The new class has added more than £7m in sales for the UK microlight industry.
The Aerospool Dynamic WT9 is imported from Slovakia by Popham-based LX Aviation, and follows the factory receiving A8-1 manufacturer status by the UK CAA last year. The basic ‘Club’ version of the WT9 with a 100hp Rotax 912ULS is priced at £145,000 inc VAT.
A ‘Super Dynamic’ version of the WT9 with a 141hp Rotax 915iS engine has already been approved in the 600kg microlight class in Germany.
The Comco-Ikraus C42B is one of the most popular training microlight aircraft in the UK, with a max take-off weight of 472.5kg. It’s imported from Germany by TLAC at Little Snoring Airfield, Norfolk.
The P&M Quik GTR is the only flex-wing microlight among the three, and has been a staple in the P&M Aviation stable since 2012. It’s P&M’s all-rounder with good handling at both higher cruise speeds and low speed. The UK agent, Pegasus Sport Aircraft, is pricing the Quik GTR at £49,9995 inc VAT.
