TUI Airways, part of the multi-national TUI travel group, has opened applications for its fully funded Multi-Crew Pilot Licence (MPL) cadet programme.
The scheme will see new pilots join the Boeing 737 fleet after around 18 months of training, all in the UK. That includes 6.5 months of ATPL Theoretical Knowledge training which will be a combination of remote Computer-Based Training (CBT), virtual classroom learning (from your home location), and in-person classroom learning – and, of course, 13 exams.
After theoretical training, student pilots will complete four practical training phases: core flying skills, introduction of multi-crew operations and instrument flying, intermediate flying training in a B737 simulator, advanced flying training including the B737 Type Rating and circuit training in a B737.
Funding for the TUI MPL Cadet Programme includes:
However, the student pilot is responsible for personal travel, food and personal living expenses.
Upon completion of training and joining TUI as a Cadet Pilot, there is a Cadet Pilot salary for four years, which will include repayment of training costs to TUI. This salary is currently £37, 751 (post deduction) and will increase in line with pilot pay scheduling agreements.
TUI Airways said, “We’re looking for candidates to be committed, resilient and hard-working, and will be rewarded with a dynamic and exciting career where each day is different.
“We’re looking for people with great communication and leadership skills, the ability to remain calm under pressure, resilience to work hard throughout a challenging course, motivation to learn and ultimately develop into highly skilled professional pilots.”
To apply for the TUI Airways MPL Cadet Programme, there are a few requirements:
