CSE Aviation are claiming the first UK flight of a Cessna 182 SMA diesel conversion. The Jet A1-fuelled aircraft was re-engineered by CSE in its EASA and FAA-approved workshops.
CSE Aviation is the sole distributor of the SMA four-cylinder SR305-230 diesel engine in the UK and Ireland, and the company is also the UK centre for sales, installation and support services for the new engine.
Steve Jones, Managing Director of CSE Aviation said ‘We are extremely proud to be the first to convert and fly this pioneering ‘green’ engine in the UK. As well as superb fuel economy and reduced operating costs, it offers enhanced performance, safety and reliability. In flight we found it to be smooth running, easy to fly and with much lower levels of noise and vibration.’
