Zara Rutherford, 19, has successfully completed her solo round-the-world flight in a Shark microlight aircraft.
She landed at Kortrijk-Wevelgem Airport in Belgium, which she left to start the journey on 18 August last year. Zara expected to finish the flight before Christmas but was delayed repeatedly by weather – the flight was entirely VFR.
As well as being the youngest woman to fly solo around the world, Zara is also the first woman to circumnavigate in a microlight.
Guinness Book of Records has indicated that it will confirm the records.
