50 Diamond aircraft presented to UWCA

The first 50 DA40 Tundra Star from Diamond Aircraft’s Russian-Austrian co-production were presented on 11 November.
Working with UWCA (Ural Works of Civil Aviation), Diamond Aircraft has produced 50 units of the single-engine, four-seater aircraft within half a year.
This is the first part-delivery from a total order of 117 aircraft for the Russian Ministry of Aviation. The aircraft will go into operation at the state flight training schools in Ulyanovsk and St Petersburg at the beginning of 2014.
The aircraft, which is specifically designed for the Russian market, fulfils the strict regulations regarding landing on rough terrain and harsh climate. Able to fly with kerosene, it can be refuelled with a variety of fuels including Jet A-1, Jet A, and TC-1.
