Airbox launches French and German Aware

Continuing on the back of the success of the Aware, Airbox Aerospace is now offering a French and German version of the airspace warning device.
Airbox explained, “In line with our’ data integrity policy, airspace has been sourced direct from official sources in both countries. Units have been tested extensively with AOPA to ensure that the offering meets European expectations. We have secured a deal with the IGN to provide official French OACI 500,000 charting and Germany’s DFS for its 1:500,000 VFR charting.”
Patrick Charrier, President of AOPA France and CFI, tested the unit and commented: “Airspace infringements are at an all-time height. The airspace structure in France becomes more and more complex. AOPA had a team in the air to test the Aware unit thoroughly. We are more than happy with the results. The Aware is there as a reminder to the pilots, not to replace their skills while navigating. This is probably why it seduced us so much. Pilots who do not fly a lot during the year see this unit as a way to protect their license and stay away from infringing airspace unintentionally.”
Steve Gubbins, Airbox ‘s International Sales Director added: “UK Aware users will also benefit from the new chart and airspace availability for France and Germany with the full knowledge that they will be receiving the most up to date and accurate airspace definitions available.”
